A web application built with Python Flask and Docker to make certificate health visible across services and help teams act before an expiry becomes an outage.
The challenge
Certificate expiry is easy to miss when status, ownership, and renewal dates are spread across services and operational tools.
Approach
- Built a dashboard for monitoring certificate status and upcoming expiry windows.
- Automated alerting and scheduled renewal workflows to support proactive operations.
- Connected notifications with existing tools so teams can follow up on approaching expirations.
- Packaged the application as a Dockerized Python Flask service.
Result
Used in production, the dashboard gives teams a central, intuitive view of certificate health and supports more proactive certificate security. It received positive user feedback and significantly reduced SSL-related incidents.
